Bunker Hill, 17 June 1775. The fight for liberty begins in America with the
Massachusetts militia resisting the British army's sweep for illegal weapons.
Brandywine, 11 September 1777. General Howe spent the spring and summer
of 1777 attempting to lure George Washington into battle.
Germantown, 4 October 1777. Three weeks after the defeat at Brandywine, the
Americans were ready to attack. Washington, now reinforced, attacked Howe's encampment at Germantown.
Monmouth, 28 June 1778. Washington decided to attack the rearguard of the
British Army which was evacuating Philadelphia and moving overland through New Jersey to New York.
