Spires of the Kremlin (3W) $42. This game covers the German attempt to capture Moscow in 1941. Unit types include: bridging, motorcycle infantry, combat engineers, rocket artillery, anti-aircraft, armor, mechanized infantry, etc. Supply, weather and terrain all play their part, as do fortifications, strong points, air power, reinforcements, replacements, headquarters and reserves. The scale is five miles per hexagon; turns represent two days; units are divisions, brigades, regiments and battalions. The game covers "Operation Typhoon," the Axis attack toward Moscow during October, November and December 1941, together with the Soviet counter offensive through 15 January 1942. |
