World at War Update
World at War #22 features the game Minsk, 1944. Feature articles include a lead article on Minsk portion of the summer 1944 campaign that lead to the Destruction of Army Group Center, Green at Kasserine, the Battle of Savo Island Reconsidered, and Hitler’s Military Conferences. Other articles and columns include a comparison of Utah and Omaha Beach, Red Army Mechanized Corps of June 1941, General George Kenney, Project Seal: The Tsunami Weapon, plus Design Corner, Media Reviews, and a Game Preview of Guadalcanal (Pacific Battles #23).
Strategy & Tactics Update
Strategy & Tactics #273 ships in about 3 weeks. It features the game: Reichswehr. Feature articles include Reichswehr and Freikorps, Battle of the Talas River, Napoleon’s Russian Flanks, and Liberian Civil War. Other articles include Unintended Consequences of Velcro-Backed Military Patches, The Caterpillar Club, Santa Anna’s 1836 Texas Campaign, plus our regular columns: On Design, Work in Progress, Did You Know?, The Long Tradition, and Media Reviews.
Modern War Update
Modern War #1 will ship in May. It will feature a Special Edition game of Red Dragon/Green Crescent. This game expands on the original Red Dragon (S&T#250) to include the Indian Ocean and the forces of the countries involved throughout the region. The magazine itself also will be a new design in an 84-page perfect bound format (116 total pages in the first issue!). There will be many more maps, photos, and illustrations. Decision Games Recent Releases
Patton’s First Victory was released in December. PFV is an introductory level game of the Tunisia Campaign, 1942-1943. It includes both a board version and computer version of the game. The computer provides hotseat and PBEM options (no AI, but fully refereed).
Decision Games – next 90 days
Wacht am Rhein and Hurtgen: Hells’ Forest are in final printing. Pledge ordering will end 13 Jan 12.
Storm of Steel expansion kit is ready to head to printing but still waiting for Bob’s player aid charts. As soon as Bob recovers to the point he can finish these and they are turned in, we’re ready to roll on printing.
SPW Update
Duration: the Grand Campaign, second printings of all the previous volumes, and a Der Weltkrieg Series SupaSet are scheduled for release this summer.
Excalibre Update
The first group of Excalibre games (Mighty Fortress, Conquerors, Ancient Conquest, and Battle for Stalingrad) were released in Sep 2011.
Ancient Conquest 2, Barbarian, Kingdom, & Empire, Alexander at Tyre, Raiders & Traders, Flight of the Goeben, and Decision in France are the next set scheduled for release in late 2012.
